Oh, how can i forget to blog about the best new year's eve ever?heh, met up at Kamariah's house to fry mars bars and cook fried rice this morning.
4 of us plus a small little boy ate 25 mini fried mars bars that morning! please do not belittle the word 'mini', 'cause its terrible and sinful enough! moreover its fried. its bad enough!
k lah, though the session wasn't that successful in the way that we sort of had to force ourselves to finish the fried bars up, for the process, the fun, making a fool of ourselves, the laughters, the excitement and the anticipation, it was worth the calories that would take a few days to burn luh!
then after which was what we were looking forward to! we went kite-flying!
initial plan was to head down to marina barrage for that, but due to our late-coming, slow-frying and spending quite some time figuring out and testing out how to make the crust for the fried mars bars, we settled for the field behind tamp interchange this afternoon.
and goodness gracious! the 4 noobs and 1 innocent little boy went to the field to fly kite at this auspicious time of
2pm in the afternoon, and with much excitement we laid the mat and food and all. starting flying, the wind was on and off..
after like 10 mins, the rest all stopped flying kite, and guess what they did on the mat?
FOLDING PAPERS! using some origami paper and following instructions from the book.
haiya!! i'm there to fly kite okay! they go fold paper. hahaha but nvm k, different ppl have different interests! that's my friends! :D
yupp, so of course not being very enthu abt paper folding, i continued with my kite-flying session lah! so i was happily running ard the field alone for quite some time, waiting for the wind to come, feeling a lil disappointed whenever my kite fell, getting high when my kite's high, stepping into wet and muddy areas when i don't look where im running to, and etc lah! heehee guess that's why i got my face and neck red from the Sun!
anyway, the main thing besides all these fun i've had with myself and my friends is that when we're all tired of flying lousy kites that couldn't seem to fly at around 4pm, pro kite-flyers start to appear on the field with kites worth $45, big, stable, nice, and the wind was really getting stronger and more consistent at that time, the sun wasn't that bright and sunny at that time.. you get what i mean! haha, we noob lah!
and we were all in awe the moment they start flying their kites one by one, pros after pros. and we had to remind one another, " eh, don't Wah till so loud lah, so paiseh so paiseh leh. " 'cause the thing is we already made ourselves fool infront of those professionals by running about like mad dogs just only trying to get the kite flying, while what they did was just standing there looking proudly at their good materials and high quality kites up really high on the sky.
but this was really a nice experience i have to say!
i think kites that fly high and strong, though sometimes it seemed like its gonna fall when the wind is not strong enough, but ultimately it got rescued and continued soaring in the beautiful, vast sky, are really cool and awesome. and... i think this is how we should be.
went for the last prayer meeting of year 2009 after that, it was great!
looking forward, feeling hopeful towards the upcoming happenings in 2010!
